Hola's Blogger,

We're getting to the really good stuff now - 20 through 11.  If these songs do not make you laugh, cry, quit your job, run a half-marathon backwards while being ridiculously photogenic, break up a New York subway fight with Pringles, and spontaneously burst into flames - all at the same time - then there is obviously something seriously wrong with you.

Da Butterses Top 100 Songs of the Aughts: 50-41

Hello Blogger,

Today begins the countdown of the top 50 songs of the 2000's. After writing this, I've realized that VH1 did not include ANY of these 10 songs in their list. :/

50. It's Five O' Clock Somewhere - Alan Jackson (June, 2003)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - Not Listed

49. Without Me - Eminem (May, 2002)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - Not Listed

48. Yellow - Coldplay (June, 2000)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - Not Listed

47. Icky Thump - The White Stripes (April, 2007)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - Not Listed

46. All Around Me - Flyleaf (April, 2007)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - Not Listed

45. All the Same - Sick Puppies (September, 2006)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4 (Free Hugs Campaign - BETTER)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - Not Listed

44. Hella Good - No Doubt (April, 2002)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - Not Listed

43. Float On - Modest Mouse (February, 2004)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - 39

42. Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand (February, 2004)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - 32

41. Down With the Sickness - Disturbed (October, 2000)
VH1 - Not Listed; RSM - Not Listed

Can't believe VH1 didn't have ANY of these song in their list. But I guess if they included Franz Ferdinand and Modest Mouse, there wouldn't have been any room left for the REALLY important songs, like Bootylicious and Party in the USA (again, there is a great need for a sarcastic font). Anyways... thanks for reading everyone! 40-31 will be next week; keep in touch!

Tenacity Prayer

Hello, Blogger

Just wanted to share something I ran across in the Wall Street Journal - absolutely brilliant:

Tenacity Prayer
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." - Ray Kroc.

With the exception of the "politically incorrectness" of the 2nd line, Ray's words are well-put. There is no bigger factor to success than hard work and determination - what better motivation could one get?
